Alison has worked in the Diagnostics and Life Sciences sector for almost 30 years, focused on developing and implementing commercial and product development strategy.
Her expertise has been forged in a range of senior executive roles for global leader, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and more recently, at innovative early-stage companies and in consulting practice.
A scientist by education, Alison’s career has always been commercial in focus. With an executive MBA from London Business School, her strategic insights are informed by some theory and frameworks – but a whole lot more by her experience of hands-on practice, ensuring opportunities and plans are based on common sense and aligned with company capabilities.
As such, she brings a unique perspective on the opportunity presented by new ideas and a pragmatic approach to turning good ideas into great ideas that can be commercially realised with manageable risk. Her experience spans strategic assessment and planning, product development, and business/corporate development in combination with team leadership for growth.
Alison is passionate about the opportunity for diagnostics to play an increasingly important role in the next generation of healthcare provision, to reduce the costs of delivery and improve patient outcomes through better and more timely intervention.
She formed Turner Howie in 2017 to provide consulting services and interim leadership with impact.
